Lalaloopsy Printables

Lalaloopsy Printables

I have been asked a LOT if I would make Lalaloopsy printables and I have never done it because Ladybug showed no interest.  Recently that all changed.  I don’t even know where she saw them recently or what is different, but she thinks they are adorable now.  Not obsessed, which is a good thing, there’s way too many to buy…although I was pretty Strawberry Shortcake obsessed as a kid!  She asked if we could have a Lalaloopsy week and I knew it was time to create the printables for her and for many of you who wanted these!

There are bound to be typos, just let me know in the comments so I can fix things. These names are crazy, I had to go to Lalaloopsy school just to create the pack!

I wrote about my views on using themes with young kids, and there are certainly a LOT of early childhood themes to choose from! When you begin planning, Pinterest and Google can be a bit overwhelming! I am creating this series to help you with your planning. I have gathered all FREE theme based printable packs {mainly early childhood focused, tots-1st grade} that I am aware of and sorted them by letter so you can browse through and get ideas all in one place! I did NOT include holiday based packs, simply because there are so many and they are pretty easy to find when holidays roll around.

I have included free printable theme packs from bloggers around the web including; Homeschool Creations, 2 Teaching Mommies, Spell Outloud, 3 Dinosaurs, Confessions of a Homeschooler, Me & Marie Learning, Ooopsey Daisy, All Our Days, Creative Learning Fun, Royal Baloo, 123 Homeschool 4 Me, Lawteedah, Our Little Monkeys, Creative Preschool Resources, Our Country Road, Homeschool Share, Gift of Curiosity, This Reading Mama, and Over the Big Moon. {if any of you ladies notice an error/edit please let me know!}

If the pack was created by another blogger, I listed their {blog name} in the brackets. If there aren’t any brackets, I made it!

Tot School ~ Letter L

~Ladybug is currently 37 months old~

Animal-ABC-Button9222222222

The items are all available here on the Animal ABCs webpage. {files are released for free when they are posted on the Totally Tots blog for the ABC feature, letter L is not free yet, but it will be once it is posted on Totally Tots!}.

Here are some Letter L and Llama ideas for you…

I brought finger paint out and she LOVED it…IMG_6877

Really, really loved it.IMG_6881

She spent some time tracing with a regular marker too,IMG_6952

Screaming at me to stop taking her picture {2 seconds later she was asking me to see her picture}IMG_6953

Here she is working on Letter Ll Dot Fun, first she colored in all of the dots.  This set is included in the Animal ABC Bundle, or you can purchase the set as a stand alone set for $1.25 on Teacher’s Notebook. Then she watched as I traced each letter with glue, then she glittered them!IMG_6962

More glitter…IMG_6965

We slipped our Play Dough Mat into our Dry Erase Center, and made the letters together.  After making the letters, she poked them! IMG_6882

She worked with me to make the letter craft, which is basically an open ended project that you can do whatever you want with!  This week I gave her letter L stickers to put on it and then she finger painted it.

IMG_6865  IMG_6871

Afterwards, we put the llamas on!IMG_6873

Our llama book for the week was Is Your Mama a Llama, I got out an old idea I had done with Krash years ago, she loved it!IMG_6858

IMG_6861

Special Note: Please read my post about Following the Child’s Lead if you have a tot and need info about this.  All tots are different and what Ladybug is doing may not be appropriate for your child, even if s/he is the same age!

She asks for her big Animal ABCs often, she loves to lay them out on the floor.IMG_6846

I gave her our foam letters too and she matched them all up!IMG_6848

My dad enjoyed playing her version of Scrabble Alphabet SoupIMG_6852

I finally got new paper for our easel and she’s back to drawing again!IMG_6854

Play dough fun with marblesIMG_6885

I added in her building set pieces too…IMG_6894

IMG_6895

Matching beginning sounds with me using our ABC felt setIMG_6913

She put most of the 3 letter word puzzles together herself and loved them.IMG_6914

We worked on reading family names and Stella was a big help!IMG_6928

She also drew herself…IMG_6932

We used our magnetic gems to make letters…IMG_6934

Block building…IMG_6939

We made ABAB patterns with Zoobs and this was her dramatic way of showing me what color came next…IMG_6942

She loved standing it up to measure…IMG_6944

Using it as a weight lifting bar was fun too…

IMG_6945 IMG_6948

Shaving cream & finger paint play…

IMG_6983 IMG_6980

Favorite toy of the week by far, our new Letter Construction set which we are reviewing for Learning Resources.  I figured she would like these, but she LOVES them.IMG_6986

We made shapes and jumped into the shape I called out…IMG_6995

We also made tons of letters and jumped to those too!IMG_7006

She looks angry in this picture but really she was reading to herself and being extremely dramatic!  It was so funny!IMG_7012

Hanging ith the big Kids

We made Origami animals along with our stop in Japan with Little Passports.  Ladybug chose to make a kitty with us, well ~ she chose for me to make a kitty for her!IMG_6919

Techy-Tot_thumb2_thumb_thumb

We are currently reviewing Readeez and Ladybug is in love.  I will be sharing more soon, but here she is watching the counting song! IMG_6843

She loves the Nursery Rhymes bundle and here is watching London Bridge.IMG_6844

    You Can Read: Unit 18 {new, was, under, be}

    RRSK: Letter Ll

    Theme: Webkinz

    RRRSK-header-copy22222222

You can download all of the printables for this unit FREE here on the main RRSK page, just scroll down until you see them!  We have backed off from doing all 10 of the provided activities in the RRSK units.  As he progresses, some items aren’t necessary anymore and either we skip them or go through them quickly.  My main goal in using the RRSK lessons is the Bible work and simple review of other K skills.

Here he is taping his verse together, he prefers tape over glue…IMG_1437

He likes the new RRSK Verse Check list.  He was excited to get his star for all of the verses he remembered.  He only struggled with Letter B, but after a few times, he remembered it!  IMG_1444

He completed the graphing activity and really liked this.  All those roll and graph games in Preschool Packs really helped a lot!IMG_1529

Here is Krash singing letter L for you, the tune is “London Bridge.”  This is a tricky one, he never quite got it, so I sang along with him.  We always continue to practice them even after the week is over!  The printable written out the way you sing it is here!

    RRSK Letter Ll Printables Here!

If you want early access to printables beyond what I have blogged about, you can see info about purchasing here!  Currently I have units Aa-Pp available in the early access section.

    You-Can-Read-Button-200x200612222222[1]

We used unit 18 from You Can Read.  Here’s a glimpse into some of the You Can Read work he did.  He didn’t quite grasp these words in one week, so we are using them again next week too.  Here he has his notebook set up, we use our Education Cubes inserts on the cover during the week and then transfer them to our cubes for word play.  IMG_1531

He was working on putting his words together…IMG_1534

    He always loves BINGO…IMG_1535

He circled words using our dry erase activity board, then pointed them out by color and read them to me.IMG_1875

    Word-Play-rectangle412222222222

We made words with cubes and played the game we played in this post!IMG_1792

Check out Word Play ideas here, and add yours!

We began reviewing All About Reading Level 1 awhile ago, and Krash continues to make consistent progress.  You can read more about why we are choosing to review this homeschool reading program here in our “Current Curriculum” post {see FAQ}.

I wrote a lot about our initial thoughts and experiences with AAR in this Kindergarten with Krash post.

Recently we hit a big milestone in reading, lesson 16 in All About Reading which introduces the digraph “th.”  I knew this would be a bit tricky for Krash we we did the same lesson twice.  Thankfully he loved the egg flipping activity!

    IMG_1786  IMG_1782

imageIt was Webkinz week for Krash and he loved it!  We brought all of our Webkinz friends down to the schoolroom for the week, which was a big treat for all of the kids!IMG_1522

He loved his Webkinz work, here he was writing a sentence about a frog.  He was intimidated at first, but once he did it he thought it was easy!  He is using a neat spacing tool I have had for years {here is a set of 20 on Amazon, but we bought ours individually at a teacher store}.  I use these when my kids are first starting to write sentences so they master spacing right off the bat.  You can easily use a popsicle stick for a spacer if you don’t have this nifty tool.  IMG_1431

He really liked matching the sentences to the animals…IMG_1519

    IMG_1521

    Sorting rhyming words…IMG_1399

He did all of the printables, I just didn’t take photos!

    K-with-Krash-Misc_thumb_thumb_thumb_

He had tons of fun with the magnetic pattern blocksIMG_1622

We found a new fun website thanks to Pinterest, www.Cookie.com.  It has tons of cute games for young kids and the layout of the site is easy to navigate.  Krash has already found a few favorites.  PacMan was sweet and looked through it with him to help him find games he might enjoy!  Here he was playing “Counting Coins.”

    IMG_1497

iPad learning fun. Here he was playing Teach Me First Grade!  He has gotten so far in it!IMG_1391

I get asked a lot about our new case-it’s the Trident Kraken II and yes we love it! Educational iPad Apps here, also, iPad Apps-part 2!  The stylus we have that he uses sometimes is this one.

    A few items we used…

I am hoping to snap a photo of the set up each week so you can see all that was displayed for her to choose from. This week I didn’t actually set her shelves up until mid-week so we will leave these up throughout next week too! All of the kids love this new setup and the simple display of the toys is such a way to draw them in!

This week I got out red/white/blue toys as well as some USA items.

    IMG_7919

Ladybug was immediately drawn to the foam block and sticks. I modeled for her how to poke them in and she went to work.IMG_7931

After she got them all in I showed her that she could drop the red and blue pieces onto the sticks and she LOVED this. You can see Krash off to the right, he loved it all too!IMG_7939

Tongs {these are from an old bug play set from Target years ago} and pom pomsIMG_7945

She also loved the fireworks straws!!!IMG_7828

Techy-Tot_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thumbOur iPad got its normal workout this week, with Ladybug and the boys playing tons of games featured in my Educational iPad Apps blog post!

    IMG_7708 IMG_7751

This week Ladybug spent most of her time playing Toca Tea Party, Monkey Preschool Lunchbox, Monte-Lingual (1-10), Wood Puzzle and Starfall.

    Life-School_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thumb

Ladybug was the only child for over 2 weeks with the boys down south visiting grandparents. She had a real awakening when they returned and she suddenly had to share again. These snakes {my mom makes them for the kids} were a hot item and she claimed them all while the boys were away. You can see her protective nature as she was trying to show the boys they were indeed- all hers.

    IMG_7666 IMG_7671

We convinced her shortly after that she had to share and then it became a game of piling them on Pac Man…IMG_7678

    IMG_7683

She really seemed happy to have her guys back, it was cute!!
