~Ladybug is currently 26.5 months old~
We have had a very low key school week, without any sort of schedule. Ladybug insists on school daily though so we did do some things!
Letter: Nn
Object: Net
Vocabulary Development Theme: Bugs
You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.
Coloring numbers, using her dry erase activity center…
I was getting the “stop taking my picture” look while she was coloring her vocabulary cards…
She insisted on using her Boca Beth puppet to color her bugs and put her markers away, She loves this thing!
We have a mission team here serving and they brought their kids. They are all old friends of ours from our hometown and enjoyed having them over one day, Ladybug loved the school time attention from these 2 ladies…
Fun Books & Toys for this unit here!
The set-up for her shelves this week is the same as last week, I just left the info in case you missed it…
- top shelf: ladybug Easter basket {filled with some small bugs}, bug hats {Target}, bug flashcards {Target}
- top left shelf: bug library books
- top middle shelf: bug board books
- top right shelf: mini containers with bug flashcards and bug printables from Montessori Print Shop
- bottom left: sorting colored bugs into cups
- bottom middle: plastic chopsticks and mini ladybug & Butterfly erasers {Oriental Trading I think}
- bottom right: Bee Hive game
- far right: buggy fleece {to use with sensory bin and for play-she LOVES blankees!}
This week I set up both sides with the bug theme, I won’t always do this-especially for smaller themes. Bugs was the theme for Krash and PacMan too, so it took over homeschool {and still is!}
- top shelf: basket of some buggy board books and small stuffed bugs, bug flashcards, an old Valentine candy ladybug box with mini bugs in it
- top left drawer: Hex Bugs
- top middle drawer: Letter Nn printables
- top right drawer: Ladybug ABC puzzles
- middle left shelf: bug puzzle
- bottom left: bug songs {from my K teaching days}
- bottom middle: size sorting from Very Hungry Caterpillar
- bottom right: soft buggy play set
She found our Do U Know? cards and we played for a really long time together. We named the Bible characters and then she matched them all up…
We had fun counting them too…
I fed her love of magazines, getting out a few of Pac Man’s old Big Backyard magazines, she loved it!!!
We have a mission team here serving with us this week and it is made up of some really awesome friends from our hometown. They brought their kids to serve also and it is wonderful. We went out on Friday night to tour our city and while out a big rainstorm hit! It was such fun to watch the kids enjoy the cool rain on such a hot summer evening! Ladybug was loving it, eyeing the big kids…
Then finally heading out herself and dancing until it stopped, entertaining us all!
Sometimes I just want to put her cuteness in a bottle and drink it all up. I will miss this adorable stage of her life when it is done. I am soaking up every cute 2 year old moment now!!!
