Homeschool Memoirs

I saw someone else’s Homeschool Memoir post and loved the idea so I decided to join in! I will get straight to the point of this week’s assignment (if you want to read more about Homeschool Memoirs, click here).

My name is Carisa, I am 33, married for 9 years. Mom of two boys-“Pac-Man” age 6 and “Krash” age 2.

We are a full time missionary family serving in inner-city. That is the reason we began homeschooling! The schools around here are as bad as you can imagine and we gradually felt God steering us in this direction a few years back, although we resisted for awhile! We finally jumped in and are now entering our 3rd year. I can’t imagine ever not homeschooling now. What began as something I felt we had to do has turned into one of God’s best blessings in our lives!

I am a former public school K teacher, former children’s photographer, former children’s ministries director at our church. I am now starring in the best possible life role-wife, mom, and homeschool teacher!

I am an organization freak, I hate to cook, I am an introvert although most people think I am an extrovert. I could spend days alone (actually I have this week!). I used to be a tv addict, now I hardly watch it. I used to love Christian non-fiction and now adore Christian fiction! I take way too many photos and I love messing around on the computer.

Tot School is one of my favorite things in life! I don’t know what I will do when I don’t have a tot around…that will be a sad day!!! I love teaching in general but teaching younger kids is the highlight of my life!
