Integrity Time Online Review & Giveaway

Integrity Time Online Review

I was given the following items to review…

  • Integrity Time Online Know It Downloadable Curriculum {26 lessons, ages 4-7}
  • ABC Integrity Time Tunes ~ you can buy the CD on their website, or as a download from iTunes. This is an additional purchase and is necessary for the program in my opinion.
  • Integrity Time Online Grow It Downloadable Curriculum {26 lessons, ages 7-10}
  • Integrity Tunes 2 Grow It ~ you can buy the CD on their website, or as a download from iTunes. This is an additional purchase and is necessary for the program in my opinion.

After spending hours looking over this, I made the decision to use it for our character development this year!  It seems like a perfect fit and I think the music will really draw my kids in, they LOVE music!  Since my kids are ages 4, 7, and 11 I decided to go with the Know It {recommended for ages 4-7} curriculum, and focus on Ladybug and Krash mainly.  I won’t require PacMan to participate, but he will always be welcome.

To prepare for our year, I created a lesson binder, and a song binder.

Integrity Time -7351

I also printed and laminated the characters and made popsicle stick puppets.  I had a long piece of styrofoam so I made a little display to make it easier to find them during our lessons.

Integrity Time -7366

PacMan snapped some pictures while I was teaching the very first lesson, on our 2nd day of homeschool this year.

Integrity Time -6421

My favorite parts of this program are  the characters and the music.  When I presented the characters to my kids, they loved them.

Integrity Time -6448

We met 4 characters on the first day,

  • Complaining Clemo
  • Helpful Henry
  • Positive Polly
  • Selfish Sellie

Just the characters alone were such a fabulous teaching tool as the kids could really relate to the faces the characters were making.

Integrity Time -6457

I made a playlist for the music and it was really easy to jump to the songs {which are specifically listed out for you in the manual}.

Integrity Time -6467

What I Love ~

The music!  It is awesome and although not faith based, it aligns with my Christian faith.  The messages are definitely messages I want my kids hearing.  My kids LOVE the music, especially Ladybug, who dances around!

Integrity Time -8662 Integrity Time -7356

The characters!  With the program, you get printable characters and I love the artwork.  The names are great, and are really meaningful to my kids.  This hands on addition makes the lessons come to life in a great way.

The lesson manual, song printables, and organization.  It really is all prepared at the beginning of the year and then I can just sit down and teach. It took some prep work in the beginning, but now I am done and just teach!

Thoughts to Consider ~

I have no negatives for you, just some thoughts to consider.  The curriculum is written to a class, not a family.  This is fine and is adjustable as you speak to your kids if homeschooling, but it is something I think as a homeschooler you might like to know!

There aren’t new characters presented with every lesson.  My kids LOVE the characters so I needed to bring them out for each new lesson.  I wish there was a new one introduced in each lesson. For lessons that don’t have a new character we just review and role play with the ones we have already met.

Final Thoughts ~

Obviously I have positive overall thoughts, as we have chosen to use this as our character program for the year. We are up to our 4th lesson, doing one per week, and I am already seeing great results.  The other day at our camper, one of our kids was being grumpy and complaining, and Ladybug said, “He’s being like Complaining Clemo!”  While it wasn’t exactly fabulous that she called her brother out, I was thrilled to see the lesson stuck!

If you are looking for a character development program to use, I definitely recommend looking into Integrity Time.  You can see more in my Learning with Ladybug series, where I share a bit about what we did each week!

We are a little over 2 weeks in with @studydotcom We are a little over 2 weeks in with @studydotcom and I wanted to share a small update.

Click the link in my profile to read my blog post: Why We Chose Study.com for Homeschool. In that post I promised to be transparent and give updates along our journey. Consider this the first update! We switched courses for 9th grade science already! I originally had her in Physical Science and honestly it was too much, too fast - even I was a bit overwhelmed when I went in and did some of the lessons and quizzes. We have switched her to earth science for now. All other courses are going really well and both of my kids like the format. I LOVE the parent dashboard and how easy it is to keep up with them.

I’m thankful so far because my life is busier now and my kids are older, having something they are independent with is so helpful for them and for me. We communicate often and I’m checking in and very involved but I don’t do the actual teaching.

So, overall it’s going well so far. Stay tuned, I’ll continue to share!

I tried explain these friends to my daughter last I tried explain these friends to my daughter last night. It was hard to find words.

They have been a huge part of our life since before having children, and we have walked through life together, even when they all lived here in NC and we lived in Philly for 11 years. We began as the “young married couples Sunday school class.” We have been back in NC for 8 years and although we live an hour from all of them, it’s still the same. We get together every month or so, and although we were missing a few last night, we are always thankful for everyone who can make it.

Lili, being our youngest, doesn’t know them as well even though she has been around them on and off her whole life. She’s finally old enough to really get it and appreciate how much they mean to us. Last night as we drove the hour home we explained the long story of our deep friendship and how thankful we are. ❤️

Love y’all beyond words and missed those of you who weren’t there last night. ❤️
Our 8th grade year-end post is up on my blog (link Our 8th grade year-end post is up on my blog (link in profile). I definitely didn’t like all of our choices, but I loved most of them.

Lili was pretty independent this year for homeschool, but we did a few subjects together: logic, government, writing. I loved the addition @compassclassroom for history and vocabulary. We always love @teachingtextbooks for math. @iew wins for writing and grammar with us. You’ll see in the post I didn’t like what I chose for science. She took another course from @theanimcourse and continues to love them. We loved the books we read for logic and government, see post for those!

It still means the world to me, knowing the bond these two share and how blessed we are to have him as Kyler’s coach. He’s been his coach since he was 8, and we enter their final year together in the fall. Time flies.

Sailed on @royalcaribbean Harmony of the Seas and everything was outstanding except for the teen program - it sucked (compared to Carnival). But the rest was wonderful! We love cruises and the last one they took us on was in 2019, it was so fun to be back on a ship!

He had a fall on his first day(Thursday) of competition and sprained his thumb/hand and we weren’t even sure he could compete day two. He competed today and hit all 6 events! He pushed through and really focused on parallel bars since he was sitting in 6th after day one. Well, he did even better and pulled his placement to 2nd!!

It was a Christmas filled with many emotions. Joy, It was a Christmas filled with many emotions. Joy, happiness, excitement, surprise, sadness, longing, and a bit of emptiness.

We celebrated with my parents on the 24th, and that was a very joyous celebration. We enjoyed church, gifts, food, and mostly one another.

On the 25th we celebrated with my husband’s family and sadly we are missing our beloved Nana who went to be with Jesus a few weeks ago. We all did our best to honor her love for fun last night. We played games, we laughed, we ate well, but it was all mixed with a longing sadness, wishing we had her with us.

The next to last photo is it Kyler and my father in law, who lost his very best friend. We just love him so much and pray for his continued healing as he grieves this horrible loss and emptiness.

The final photo is of Nana’s grandkids each holding their collage of photos of them and their Nana. This gift brought some tears, but we can tell will be treasured by each of them. She was one of a kind, and so special to all six of them.
