Playful Learning with Spielgaben is our monthly post sharing Spielgaben in action! If you missed the introduction to this series, you can see it here and also see links to our past posts.. We were given the Spielgaben set to review and are honored to have them as a blog sponsor. I will be sharing once a month a detailed post featuring Spielgaben. You can also see my Learning with Ladybug posts to see what my daughter has done with this learning set!
Lessons We Enjoyed
This month we had fun with Play Guide 2. I took small screen shots of the manual for you so you can see how the lessons are laid out. They are very easy to follow and help me so much. I keep the user guide on my iPad and we use it for the lessons. She likes that she can enlarge each step if needed to see exactly how something was built. it’s a nice bonus to a PDF digitally instead of printed!
We enjoyed making dinosaurs together using Play Guide 2, section 05. She LOVES dinosaurs, and this was tons of fun to do together.
When we build together, I let her figure out as much as she can on her own. She gathers the shapes she needs and follows the graphic using my ipad.
If she gets stuck, we examine it together and I gently help her figure it out, still allowing her as much independence as possible.
When building something she really loves, we will tape the pieces together so they can be played with a bit before taking them apart. These were a big time favorite!
Free Play
Once I got our new schoolroom in our new house semi-clean she noticed the Spielgaben set and got busy creating. She made a flower…
We made a Christmas tree together…
We sorted and stacked colored rings, and the added colored pom poms to our play.
We then used the rings to play BINGO in one of her Logic of English lessons.
Nature & Inspiration Guide Play
I have our Nature Guide on the iPad also, I just set it up for her if she asks, or if I set up an inspired play. Below she was making a flower!
