Recently I bought a membership to SchoolhouseTeachers.com! I have spent HOURS on the site choosing class options for my kids. I am mainly focusing on High School options for my rising 10th grader.
High School Electives
I am thrilled to have found this resource not only for cost effectiveness, but also for some unique elective options. He will be choosing between several electives I have listed below. After previewing almost every elective he would possibly be interested in, I landed on these choices. He will have the freedom to choose what he wants to take from these. He is leaning towards Web Game Design and Intro to Graphic Design and might do one this summer and one next school year.
You can browse all of these classes directly on SchoolhouseTeachers.com, this is my favorite place to browse, in the Quick Links section, where it show all courses by subject and you can click from there to read more about them.
High School Core Courses
I am fairly certain we will be using American Government and Economics next year. We are looking at this Advanced Chemistry course and comparing it to the others we are thinking of using. Music Theory will be a great fine arts credit!
Elementary Classes
I am currently deciding which {if any} of the elementary or middle school classes will be a good fit for my rising 3rd grader and rising 6th grader. Honestly, I have been so focused on planning for high school I have put off some final elements of planning for my younger two. I have a curriculum list already prepared, I am just deciding if I want to replace anything on my “to buy” list with a course found on SchoolHouseTeachers.com!
These are a few I am looking at as possibilities right now.
I am pretty blown away by what we have access to for such a small yearly fee.
