I have loved Reading Eggs for many years now and my daughter, who is in 5th grade, has been using it this year! You can see our post here about Reading Eggspress, which is created for kids ages 7-13. Today I want to share a bit more about the portions for younger kids and why I believe Reading Eggs would be a fabulous addition to your homeschool – since many of you are now schooling at home when you least expected it! Finding a quality educational program online that is also super fun and engaging for kids can be difficult. I highly recommend Reading Eggs, and you can try FREE for 30 days!
In case you aren’t familiar with Reading Eggs, below you can see a graphic describing the different areas.
When you sign up, your child can take a placement test to help you assess where s/he should begin.
Once your child is ready to begin there are many ways for your child to learn and play. Here is a peek at the Reading Eggs dashboard your child will see.
As you can see, there are many different areas of the program in addition to the main lessons {in the center}. My daughter has always loved earning eggs and “buying” things for her “house” in the program.
As a parent, you may wish to do more without the screen and Reading Eggs is a solution for this too! Many who are familiar with Reading Eggs don’t realize that with your membership you get access to printable resources also! Once you are logged in and viewing the parent dashboard, you’ll click on the Bonus Material tab {see screenshot below} and you’ll find lesson plans, worksheets and many more printables!
Here’s a peek at the Activity Sheets from Reading Eggs Lesson 1. There are many options available and you can choose BW or color printables.
