I am reading Instructing a Child’s Heart and loving it. I love hearing about other books like-minded parents are reading so I thought I would share with you, in case any of you are wondering what I read at night! I am usually reading up to 4 books at a time, and I also wonder if others are like that!
Usually one line can catch my attention and draw me into a book. I know some people like to read very long book reviews/recommendations–not me. I am a straight to the point kind of gal and I thought I would share in that fashion in case any of you are like that! Here is the line that drew me into this book…
“Often, sincere Christians feed and house the enemy (the secular culture) and feel they can somehow contain its influence on their family.”

This would be nice to post right over our TV! I’ve been thinking of switching to Sky Angel Network, just because even the commercials during kids shows are just offensive sometimes…and I’m a nervous wreck!

Wow that’s a great line, we agree with that one. We try our best to, as my Pastors wife puts it “have no poop in my brownie”. haha
It’s a long story, quite entertaining but exactly the same point. Anything from what are kids watch to who they interact with is kept a close eye on by my husband and I.
I am not reading any books at the moment on child rearing. I was touching on the beginning of “Bringing up Boys” by Dr. Dobson recently, it’s on hold because I need to catch up on marriage reading first.
I am reading “Two fleas and no Dog” author ? (just started today), “The Joy of Marriage God’s Way” Beverly LaHaye, “Captivating, unveiling the mystery of a woman’s soul” (almost done, started a year ago) by John and Stasi Eldredge, “Communication Sex and Money” (I read this to my husband at bed, but I haven’t read to him in a couple months now) by edwin Louis Cole.
I too read a few books at a time but sometimes it takes me a while to get through them, all in God timing I just say to myself. Haha.
I just picked up that book at our church library. So glad to hear you are liking it! I’ll have to move it to the top of my stack. : )
