This is the main section of our preschool posts-focusing on what we do for our Raising Rock Stars Preschool Curriculum. I am not sharing photos of each part every week, just what I happen to catch! We do the entire unit even if I don’t show it here in the photos!
Our Letter this week was Ff, our verse: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Cutting his vocabulary cards… Working on his straight lines…
Taping his long verse together with me…
Measuring his verse, he loves this part!!!
I love these photos of Krash, which were actually taken on two separate days {yes he opted to go shirtless 2 days in a row, I think it’s his new summer look}. Notice his lips in both photos, I think he was irritated with me, you think? I don’t remember the painting one, but I do remember him not being his super-cheery self when I took his photo with the finished product. He liked it and talked about how fancy his heart was, he just didn’t want to stand still for me ;-).
We had extra fun with our PowerPoint lessons this week, getting out our shape viewers to match up to the slides! You can see a video here showing a PowerPoint lesson. You can learn more about the Members Only section here.
You can download the entire letter Ff unit here.
{A few things that were in his preschool workboxes for the week, not all activities are pictured}
We did a few fun letter of the week activities. He sorted upper and lower case…Dot painted F is for Fish…
We found adorable road letters from Making Learning Fun. He loved making the letter with cars and then driving on the F.
Also from MLF, F is for Fireman…
He worked on his pom pom counting cards…
This is where I share the 3 special open-ended toys that were in our Star Boxes for the week.
He always has fun exploring with the Blokus board…
Also in Star Boxes this week…Magneatos, and Cutting Food.
This week, our game was Pengaloo, a new favorite for us all! Krash got this game for his birthday, we just hadn’t played it until now!
Skills we focused on while playing…
- Counting 1-6…the little strip that the collected penguins sit on had the #s 1-6
- Color ID…Krash had to roll the dice, identify both colors and then try to find either color hiding under the penguins.
- Memory skills…if he didn’t get a match, he covered it back up and tried to remember in case he rolled that color next time.
This game is ADORABLE and so simple. All of the pieces are wooden and well made. You could also easily just play memory with it, especially if your tot is a bit younger. My 8 year old loved this game too!
I play alone with Krash on day 1, with the boys together on day 2, and then they play alone {with me supervising close by} after that. See more of our favorite preschool games here.
This is where I share games, toys, and life experiences that occur outside of our planned preschool time.
We enjoyed a wonderful time with our neighbors and friends on Memorial Day! Krash had an especially great time with his friend ;-). They were adorable together and it was wonderful to just sit back, watch and giggle!!!
