Years ago, Laura from 10 Million Miles wrote a series on LOVE over at Totally Tots and I developed some printables to extend her ideas. You can read the ideas she shared to go along with these printables here on her blog. This series was all centered around love activities for kids based on 1 Corinthians 13. Laura shares some simple and beautiful ways to teach these verses to younger kids.
The first year we used these printables, we made a wall and added a new heart everyday, you can see it in this post! The following year I was inspired by another blogger and created a bouquet out of our printable hearts! Hers are much more beautiful than mine. Why I used black instead of green I don’t know, but I am too lazy to change them now! Here’s our bouquet, which we have used for years!
Each day one of the kids chooses a heart flower from a bag and we read about that phrase/word. Then it is added to the bouquet.
I adapted these ideas for PacMan when he was 7. I created a notebook with verses to copy which allowed him to earn money to show love to someone else. You can read all about what we did here!
I updated the printables and in the download link {scroll down} you will find all of these printables as well. I had a great time digging out his old notebook to take some pictures for you. He could work on as many or as few as he desired each day, usually he did 1 per day. The verse was chosen by him each day and copied directly out of his Bible He worked on this when he was about the same age as Krash, look how little he looks in the photo!
At first he had a hard time copying, so I shared another post how I was helping him with Bible verse copying.
We have used these printables year after year, and even had a family bible night based on them! Here’s an old Tot School post showing them in action also.
There are many things you can do with these printables, please be sure to leave a comment if you use them and have a new idea to share, with a link if you blog!
Here’s a few book suggestions, all with a Christian message…
