I had the honor of attending Teach Them Diligently in Nashville a couple of weeks ago and will be in Spartanburg this weekend. Nashville was my first time attending and my first time speaking at a homeschool convention. When asked to speak many months ago, I hesitated, mostly due to feelings of not wanting to be the mom who leaves home a lot. Also some feelings of “why do they want ME?” would creep in my head. It is thanks to my husband that I pushed these feelings out and took a leap. He said yes for me, and I trusted his leading and go figure, he was right.
Teach Them Diligently Nashville was an incredible experience for so many reasons.
First, I got to spend several days in an amazing hotel with an amazing friend, Jolanthe.
Second, I got to experience Teach Them Diligently for the first time and was blown away by how awesome the whole experience was.
Third, I got to meet so many kind and encouraging blog readers who just confirmed the choice to be there.
I led 3 sessions; What is Tot School?, Following the Lead of Your Young Child, and Theme Based Learning in the Early Years, a joint session with Jolanthe.
All 3 stem from my early childhood passion and this made it so much fun. It was a lot of prep work, but it was all worth it when I realized it helped even one family. The highlight of was getting a special note thanking me. Thanks London, you made my trip!
I am in Spartanburg this weekend and will also be in Washington DC in May. My entire family gets to go with me in DC, I am so excited! If you are on the fence, I strongly encourage you to attend if possible. I had little idea of what to expect and any expectations I had were blown away.
Were you in Nashville? Will you comment and share your experience and thoughts? How about Spartanburg this weekend? Come find me so we can meet! Let me know if you will be in Washington, I’d love to meet you there too!
