Lessons We Enjoyed
This month we continued our work with Set 9. I took small screen shots of the manual for you so you can see how the lessons are laid out. They are very easy to follow and help me so much. I keep the user guide on my iPad and we use it for the lessons. She likes that she can enlarge each step if needed to see exactly how something was built. it’s a nice bonus to a PDF digitally instead of printed!
We worked on Lesson 9-5, Center Pattern Design Play.
We talked a lot about patterns, and symmetry all while we built something beautiful together.
She loved seeing it grow as we took turns building.
We also used a worksheet focusing on symmetry from set 9 Level 2. At first she couldn’t tell what it was and when she found out she was so excited! She loves butterflies.
Mommy Inspired Play
Recently my older son came to me and said, did you know L can add in her head? I did not know this and he quizzed her on a few addition problems and sure enough she had it. She was VERY proud of herself so I decided to expand on her joy. I set up this simple addition activity and instantly she loved it. I made three problems and wrote the answer choices on sticky notes and she put them in the right place.
Then, she wanted to make problems for me, and even figured out the answers on her own and made me sticky notes to choose from!
We went back and forth a few times, eventually ending up with a bunch of answers on sticky notes and a fun time of practicing addition together!
Free Play
She loves Wikki Stix and she loves Spielgaben. She asked if she could make something for each family member and got busy. I am still not exactly sure what they are supposed to be, but we all got one.
Two had already been handed out by the time I got the photo, we all love our little treats!
Nature & Inspiration Guide Play
I have our Nature Guide on the iPad also, I just set it up for her if she asks, or if I set up an inspired play. Below you can see she had a fun building afternoon, making one right after another!
