I was recently introduced to JessicaSprague.com – a fabulous, online learning classroom and shop for digital crafters. They offer tons of classes in everything from photography and photo editing to using the Silhouette!
This summer they have a kids photography summer camp that I am excited to share with you. The three-week long camp is designed for children ages 8 – 13 and will teach basic photography and camera techniques. No special equipment is required – any point and shoot camera; even a cell phone or iPod with a camera will work!
Although I have not personally seen this class in action, I am thrilled to get to peek in on PacMan who is enrolled for the June 11-29 session! He is so excited to begin, and I will certainly share his thoughts when he completes it!
Basically, this is how it works…
Every day your child will get an email with a printable card that includes a new photography technique and a new assignment. There are weekly videos, a class forum, and a class gallery where they can ask questions and post their images. Each Friday they will receive a fun photography scavenger hunt to keep them learning and discovering new things all week long! The videos are pre recorded and can be viewed at any time, even beyond the session itself! Once you have access, you can go back to any of the videos, anytime!
The class is taught by Candice Stringham, an editorial photographer turned scrapbooker. Candice Has a BFA in Photography and taught at a collegiate level after she graduated.
Two session of the kids camp will be offered:
First Session: June 11 – 29 – Register for the June Session {Pac is enrolled in this one!}
Second Session: July 9 – 27 – Register for the July Session
The session fee is $36 and we have a discount for families with multiple children who would all like to take the class. Just add ten dollars for each additional sibling instead of the whole $36!
I am so excited to offer one of YOU a spot in the Kids Photography Camp session of your choice. To enter, just use the Rafflecopter form below, if you don’t see the Rafflecopter form be sure you are reading on the actual blog {not in email or RSS}.
