The Maestro Classic CDs are wonderful mini-units that help introduce symphony and orchestra to younger students. Maestro Classics produces “Stories in Music” which are a classical music CD series for children ages 5 to 12, but can be enjoyed by everyone, yes…even us big people! Each CD comes with a booklet full of lesson activity ideas and games to play while listening, my kids personally love the cd insert. The CDs also include information on composers and historical facts when appropriate to the musical selections. The stories are engaging keep kids attention while at the same time introducing them to classical symphony and orchestra.
If you aren’t familiar with Maestro Classics, I recommend going to their website to learn more. If you look for this graphic, down at the bottom of their site, you’ll find answers to common questions about the series!
One thing I love about Maestro Classics is their homeschool music curriculum guide.
We personally own Peter and the Wolf, and the Tortoise and the Hare and my kids love both!
