You Can Read continues to be a fun part of our homeschool Kindergarten. Along with adding these new words, we also reviewed the previous words from unit one, unit two, unit 3, unit 4, unit 5, and unit 6. You can see how we store ALL of our You Can Read stuff here.
Here’s a post sharing You Can Read Unit 7 with Krash when he did it! See all of Krash’s Kindergarten posts here.
We took two weeks to complete this unit, and I was very laid back with what we did each day. Some days she only did one YCR activity, also there are some I didn’t get photos of. My goal is that before we wrap up the unit, she know the words. That’s how I decide when to end the unit.
Day One
Making her words using the little ledge on her shelf.
Reading her easy reader to Sweenie.
Connecting words to make shapes.
Day Two
She enjoys taping together her word puzzles…
Color by number sight word, with stickers.
Day Three
We played BINGO, with Spielgaben pieces.
Day Four
Using stickers to find words on the funny font page.
Day Five
Stickers again for her Color by number sight word!
Finding her words in the word search…
She LOVES to play memory with the color y number word cards {we use K’s old set too}.
Day 6
She used green to circle words from this week, and orange to circle any other words she remembered from previous weeks! Then we read them together, she reads circled words, I read un-circled words.
Her favorite ~ roll and read using Education Cubes printables! This week she adjusted it to KICK and read! Here’s a video of us playing kick and read…
Here’s all of the work she completed during the unit!
