February is Black History Month! There are so many heroes of history to teach your children about this month and EVERY month! I created a set of Black History 3 Part Cards as a simple way to help your child become familiar with some important people of American history.
I have been creating Black History month resources for years and I always learn more every time I create something. I create to learn, and I create to teach! I love researching and recalling facts that may have been forgotten. In 2020 I created our Black History Timeline Cards and Black History ~ Do You Know?, both taught me so much.
Many of you incorporate Montessori methods into your homeschooling, as I did when my kids were younger. I hope you enjoy these new free printables as a new addition to your resources for Black History Month!

BLACK HEROES OF HISTORY 3 PART CARDS
These cards are a bit different than my typical 3 part cards. I added in an extra control card option featuring more info about the person. You could also use these as flashcards. I found a quote by the person and included that, as well as dates.
Unfamiliar with Nomenclature cards, also called 3-Part cards?
Nomenclature cards are a Montessori-based idea. The word Nomenclature comes from the Latin “nomenclatura” which means assigning of names to things. Nomenclature cards are also called “3 part cards” for obvious reasons! Read here on our Montessori page to learn more! Montessori 3-part cards are wonderful for preschool, PreK, Kindergarten, and beyond. They require little prep work and are a great addition to a literacy center.
