The Weekly Wrap-up is a perfect way to throw some random things together each week! I don’t take photos of everything we do, but here is where I share what I do capture, either with the boys, or with all of the kids together during our group activities. It will look different each week, or every other week, depending on how much I keep my act together!
We continue to use our morning board {see full board here} and our songs {Seeds, Songs for aplings and hymn} are a big part of this time. The kids all look forward to new songs being introduced. I switched out Seeds and Songs for Saplings once a week and the hymn stays up for 2 weeks.
Taking pics of them while running and singing the Name-O song {scroll down for video} is one of my favorite things!
We are using the Botany Calendar Connections set this month, as both Pac and Krash are learning about plants in their science curriculum. One day last week, I surprised them and put the Botany eBook up on the wall using our projector! They loved seeing it up there and could follow along with me while I read the “card” to them.
We worked on Alaska in our Sticker USA Activity Book…
Afterwards, we reviewed using our USA Geography PowerPoint on the wall too…
We are up to DVD 3, part 2 with What’s in the Bible. Here they were working on some coloring pages {see links and how we are using these DVDs here}.
They get very into the coloring, Ladybug even asked to color more later in the week!
One of my favorite additions to our school routine this year is snack and story time. At 10:15 {ish} every school day we stop together and join for this. I sit in the recliner and read a story to them, different book each day {I choose the book}. The kids each eat their snack during this time and afterwards sit for a few minutes and look at the books we have read so far. We all love this relaxed 15 minutes of our day, I am not sure why I haven’t always scheduled this in.
Krash absolutely loves when Stella joins him during school time.
This week we did All About Spelling 1 ~ Lesson 6 which introduced the first spelling word list. He rocked, probably because his kitty helped him.
One of the perks we get with our cyber school/Calvert, is an online program called First in Math. Krash loves this, he is very math-smart. Ladybug loves to watch!
He finished up his cow from Draw, Write, Now ~
and afterwards we watched a couple of videos to see how cows are milked! Ladybug and Krash loved this!
Our mini puppet stage got brought up from the basement and Krash has performed many shows for all of us.
Yes, I do believe she makes 5th grade math easier…
Pac was watching one of his Fine Arts videos {from his cyber school} and Krash wanted to join him. Thankfully big bro was in a sweet mood and said yes.
The highlight of our week was that this awesome young man completed 5 days of school work in 3 days! Here he was finishing up his last math problem! I am just so proud that he has finally grasped the joy in working ahead. School has been so very enjoyable with him this year, I am so grateful. School has been a battle for us, since we began. It showed major signs of improvement last year, but this year is beyond amazing so far. I love teaching him!
That’s certainly not everything we did, but a glimpse of what my camera captured! To see more weekly wrap-ups, visit…
