Playful Learning with Spielgaben is our monthly post sharing Spielgaben in action! If you missed the introduction to this series, you can see it here and also see links to our past posts. We were given the Spielgaben set to review and are honored to have them as a blog sponsor. I will be sharing once a month a detailed post featuring Spielgaben. You can also see my Learning with Ladybug posts to see what my daughter has done with this learning set!
Recently we did something really fun and all of my kids enjoyed this, even though I did the actual lesson with Ladybug! Below you can see screenshots from the pdf file we used from the Math Guide, Play 47.
I chose this lesson randomly because I thought it looked fun. Little did I know it would entertain and challenge all three of my kids for weeks!
I began by getting out the needed cubes for the lesson. Just setting out the pieces is enough to draw her in and usually gets her asking to do the lesson.
She went right to work taping up the different combinations, with very little help from me. She followed the guide on my iPad, and did well.
The shapes were a bit “flippy” until the backs were taped, she thought this was hilarious!
Once all of the shapes were complete, she tried to make a cub on her own withoutthe instructions. We both failed.
I then showed her the guide and didn’t tell her anything. She followed it all on her own with complete success!
She was so excited and has since done it again MANY times, without the guide! She has also challenged her brothers and Daddy too.
I took a small video for you to show us in action.
Free play happens quite a bit, I just don’t always get photos! She LOVES this board and making designs with the small circles. She doesn’t always like cleaning them up, but she sure like creating with them!
