P has been asking me to learn Spanish. We’ve done the basics (colors, numbers, and a few other things) but haven’t gotten beyond that. He came to me again a few weeks ago with his desire and I explained that if he wanted to go further and really learn Spanish he would have to work at it. He said he was willing, so I went shopping. While home in NC, I stopped by the wonderful teacher store, Education Express, and picked up these two things…
The first is a book/music cd and we both like it, it seems like it will be a great review of the things he knows and teach him a few more basics. The second is a dvd (which is very cheesy, but he doesn’t seem to mind at all, he’s a bit cheesy himself !). Even K (age 22 mos) enjoys the dvd so far. I am not sure where we will go with Spanish after this, I would love to hear any recommendations of good homeschool Spanish programs (for a mom who knows VERY little Spanish). This seems to be a good start for us though!

Wonderful! We’re learning Japanese at our house, our resources just came in last week, so I’ll have to post them! We’re having a blast (I learned Japanese in HighSchool) so I have a pretty good foundation to build on with my kids 🙂 It’s fun working on another language isn’t it!

Hi Carisa,
I followed you over from LapbookLessons. Have you heard of Boca Beth? She has some great resources for Spanish. After listening to a couple song clips on her website, I bought one of her cd’s and really like it. Her site is bocabeth.com You might find something there that you like. We have the “My First Songs” cd. She also have dvd’s and a free resources area.
Welcome to LapbookLessons!
