Our first Kindergarten Literature Unit Study Printable Pack is ready! I have been busy developing behind the scenes and am excited to share our first unit with you.
“Hi! Pizza Man!” is a favorite book of Ladybug’s. Because it is a favorite of hers, we are having fun learning with it. If you have a child who loves pizza, this unit might be a fun one for you. The book also has animals in it, which Ladybug loves. I think she loves the humor in the book and the fact that the main character is a little girl about her age. It is a simple and fun book, one I don’t mind reading everyday to her!
In this printable unit you will find a sample lesson plan. I provide a lesson plan idea, but even I probably won’t follow this, it is just an idea. Make this work for you and your child!
For each unit, I am selecting Kindergarten math goals from our list. For this unit I chose patterns and graphing.
Lots of literacy activities; Letter P sound, sequencing the story, comprehension questions, rhyming fun, and writing.
For our Science focus, I decided to focus on the animals in the story. 3 part cards and matching animal names with sounds and pictures will also work on literacy skills!
The character and Bible connection is focused on using polite and kind words with others.
Bible verses are available in a few different formats, choose the one you like best.
A couple of creative options…
I share more ideas here on our Pinterest board for this unit. We are using many of the ideas I have pinned!
