I am sad that this is one of our last Kindergarten Literature Units, unless I decide to do more this summer. I had a few more I wanted to create and do with her, so we will see!
This one, Five Little Chicks, was inspired by her recent obsession with chickens.
I love setting up a central area for our theme focus and my daughter loves it too. I gather our toys and books together and display them the night before we begin our unit. It helps to draw her in and get her excited about our learning time together. For this unit, we gathered our stuffed chickens, our farm magnets, and displayed our chicken books.
A very simple sensory tub, with popcorn kernels and little chickens. The little gold pipe cleaner pieces are worms. She LOVED this tub, and it is still out even though our unit is done.
We stocked up on chicken books at the library!
