Each week I share 2-3 posts sharing our home preschool learning. This post is only sharing our letter focused work. If we have a theme of the week, it will be a separate post too. All of our general play based learning will be in a final weekly wrap up post called, “Learning with Ladybug.” I am separating out the posts to make them easier for people to find down the road when searching for specific letter/theme activities. We love our ABC Baskets! I love how much she enjoys digging through them. We play a lot together during the week exploring the contents.
All of the puzzles are always a favorite!
She hopped right up on her shelf to complete them!
Pushing the pegs into the letter L…
I drew an L on our easel and drew one ladybug. She immediately caught on and began drawing ladybugs!
The boys added a couple, but she did most of them! Throughout the week I found her counting them, it was a fabulous activity for her. By the end our letters were full!
CRAFTS
Since my girl loves to do guided crafts with me, I am trying to choose at least 2 per week that either connect to our letter of the week or our theme {if we have a special theme}. This week I chose a ladybug craft made out of egg cartons. I was inspired by the ladybug craft shown here, but she wanted to draw faces so ours turned out a bit differently. Theirs look a little more like actual ladybugs!
On day one we painted, and she LOVES painting so this was a big hit!
On another day we used a hot glue gun to attach the black pipe cleaner antennae and the wiggly eyes.
She used a sharpie to draw on the mouth and the spots.
She played with these little friends all week long, and I am sure will continue to. This craft was a huge success!
She loves the paint cut and glue crafts from Learn, Create, Love. This week we made the lemur…
She wasn’t completely sure what a lemur was so I found a video on National Geographic for her to watch after she made her craft!
We also made the lion!
PRINTABLES
I create a binder with all of the printables I chose and allowed her to flip through and choose something to do.
Again, she chose to do her letter maze first! She also requested to use a Qtip again.
The next few printables are from the Letter L pack which is available here. This printable pack was given to us from a kind blog reader who also creates printables!
She again loved the “letter soup” as we called it. She used a Q tip to paint all of the upper and lower case L’s the correct colors.
She loved the sentence building activity, and even requested to keep her letter K sentence and cards up this week also! When I took them down, she asked where they were!
This week she finger painted all of the words that start with L.
ABC Find It! is a favorite still, so we had fun with that of course!
She loves ladybugs, so when she saw the ladybug dot fun in her notebook, she loved it! She asked to use mini sponges to paint this one…
Working on her lowercase Animal ABCs letter l craft…
She LOVED the glitter glue I got her at the dollar store!
She asked to sue the glitter glue to color in her Letter L page too!
Our All About Reading Pre lesson for lowercase l was leaves and we used glue and glitter to outline them before painting!
Finding words that start with L…
She loved these ladybug math games from The Measured Mom.
Our finished Letter L work!
We used our Lalaloopsy Preschool Pack during this week also! See that post here!
