Our next Kindergarten Literature Unit Study Printable Pack is ready! I continue to develop literature unit studies behind the scenes and am excited to share our next free printable unit with you.
A few have asked if I am going in the order the books are listed here on the blog, and the answer is NO. I am going in random order and that list is not set in stone. On the website here, at the bottom, I will share the next 2 books I am working on so you’ll have a bit of notice in case you need it.
The Dog Who Had Kittens is a favorite book of Ladybug’s, featuring Eloise the cat and Baxter the dog. I had never heard of this book until it showed up in a stack of books someone gave us. It is on the longer side, so you’ll want to snuggle up if you plan to read this each day during the unit. This is a sweet story and a great one if you have a dog or cat lover like I do!
In this printable unit you will find a sample lesson plan. I provide a lesson plan idea, but even I probably won’t follow this, it is just an idea. Make this work for you and your child!
For each unit, I am selecting Kindergarten math goals from our list. For this unit I chose patterns, days of the week, story problems, and graphing.
Lots of literacy activities; Letter D sound, sequencing the story, comprehension questions, writing, and sight word work.
For our Science focus, children will describe the particular features of a Basset Hound {we will try to grab a non-fiction book about Basset Hounds for this activity too}, and also sort adult/baby animals.
The character connection is focused on being grateful, as Eloise learned to be in the end.
Bible verses are available in a few different formats, choose the one you like best.
Coloring pages for fun!
