In continuation of our world geography studies this year, we have a new set of printables for you that go along with the next book we are using! We finished up the book Passport to the World and are now using Children’s Atlas of Gods World. Since our country cards were such a great tool for my kids, I knew I needed something for them to work on as we learned.
This new book is divided by continents so I made a notebooking page for each continent and then the countries featured in the book. I added a flag, a map, and some basic facts about each country we read about.
Today I am sharing our North America printables with you! You’ll find a notebooking page for North America, U.S.A., Mexico, and Canada. I also included an answer guide at the end of the PDF file. These printables are specific to this book so I would definitely recommend using these alongside of the book. If you looking for a more generic North America printable set, try these North America printables from Homeschool Creations!
Here’s a few action shots, showing my kids working with me. Right now we are working on one page for a week, studying a country or continent 2 days per week We do this all together at the dining room table. My kids are Kindergarten, 3rd and 7th grades. They each have their own worksheet and follow along with me as I write notes on the dry erase board.
Below you can see the book we are using in the bottom left corner and the Children Just Like Me book that we pulled in to study the Inuit people on the day we did Canada. We are directly using Children Just Like Me a lot wit this study as we come to a country that has a child featured in this book. This was shared on Instagram here!
Ladybug mostly draws for her empty boxes, so I try to give her an example. Sometimes she wants to copy words too. The boys both copy the words or write their own.
My Simple Geography Goals
- Find the country on a large map
- Identify the capital city
- Identify the continent the country is on
- Color the flag
- Discuss facts presented in the book we are using currently
- Last year we enjoyed our North America Continent Box, and had it back out during this unit too.
Be sure to grab our country cards and see what we did using the book Passport to the World as our focus.
These are the other books we have in our collection so far to use together as we learn.
