This is the main section of our preschool posts-focusing on what we do for our Raising Rock Stars Preschool Curriculum. I am not sharing photos of each part every week, just what I happen to catch! We do the entire unit even if I don’t show it here in the photos!
Our letter this week ~ Ww, our verse: We love Him because He first loved us.
This was the first mini book that had coloring in it and he enjoyed it! After he colored it, we stapled it together to practice reading.
Cutting out his vocabulary cards…
Taping his verse together and then measuring with it!
The Power Point lessons are located in the Members Only section. You can see a video here showing a PowerPoint lesson. You can learn more about the Members Only section here. The entire printable unit {everything else you see pictured above} is available for FREE on the main RRSP page…
You can download the entire letter Ww unit here.
RRSP Ww lesson plan is also on the same webpage! Included is our exact plan {although I stray from my plan often}, with links to everything we used. Page 2 is blank in case you don’t do exactly what we do!
{A few things that were in his preschool workboxes for the week, not all activities are pictured}
We had a good time working with our Education Cubes, using the Letter of the Week printables to find and match beginning sounds…
I got out a wooden alphabet bead set and we created a name necklace. I planned on only doing hi name but he wanted to add everyone in our family!
We had loads of fun working on sight words. I got out the 1st 6 words from our RRSP review set and scattered them around the room on the floor. First we jumped from word to word yelling it out. Krash is not solid in his words yet and is just beginning to really remember a few, so there is a LOT of encouraging during the whole process!
After jumping for a bit, we invited Pac Man over to be a “word snatcher”. Krash had to get to the word before the word snatcher came and got it. Trick is the word snatcher had to go really slow—to give K time to figure it out. If Krash was clueless-I wrote the word on the dry erase board to give him a clue. My goal is to keep all beginning reading activities fun and stress free. Krash is just now showing a major interest in learning to read and we are going at it at HIS pace.
He loves his new BOY magnetic dolls!
Here he was sorting our mini foam letter puzzles by color {got these at Walmart last summer for $1}
Oh how this sight makes me smile. We have brought back daily reading time into our schedule and Krash loves to sit in his bean bag while reading. 😉
