Halloween Finish the Picture Printable for Kids

Halloween is the perfect time to add a little creativity to your homeschool or classroom. This Halloween finish-the-picture printable gives young children a fun way to practice tracing, drawing, and pencil control while completing adorable Halloween pictures.

Instead of asking children to draw an entire picture from scratch, these pages give them a starting point. One half of each picture is already finished. Children trace the missing side, then color their completed Halloween picture.

The printable is FREE to download, and you can choose the format that works best for your child.

What Is Included?

I created two different layouts so you can choose the version that fits your needs.

Full-Page Finish the Picture Pages

The first option includes one large picture per page. These pages give children plenty of room to trace and color.

The larger format works well when:

  • Your child enjoys coloring.
  • You want a simple independent activity.
  • You are using the pages for a preschool or kindergarten activity.
  • You want to display the finished artwork.
  • Your child benefits from having a larger area for pencil practice.

The full-page format also gives children more room to add their own creative details after they finish the missing half.

Four Mini Cards Per Page

The second option puts four smaller finish-the-picture activities on one page.

This format is great when you want to save paper or offer several activities at once. Cut the cards apart after printing, or let your child work directly on the page.

The smaller cards can also work nicely for a quick morning basket activity or a short table-time activity.

Add More Halloween Learning

If you are putting together a collection of Halloween activities for October, this printable pairs well with many of the other free Halloween resources here at 1+1+1=1.

Our recent Halloween Cats Mini Books are a fun companion activity for children who enjoy cats. The mini books include simple reading, positional words, and counting activities.

You might also enjoy our Squishmallow Halloween Printables for Kids. That collection includes beginning sounds, tracing, counting, patterns, rhyming, addition, and other early learning activities.

For more pumpkin-themed fun, check out Pumpkin Tracing Fun. Tracing is another simple way to build pencil-control skills while keeping the activity seasonal.

And if you want another activity with the same drawing concept, take a look at the original Fall Theme Finish the Picture Printables. That set includes fall leaves, an apple, and a pumpkin and uses the same supported drawing idea.

You can also browse the complete Halloween category for even more seasonal activities and free printables.
